Our Sizing Tips
- If your two measurements don't match up, we would recommend choosing the larger size for more comfort during use
- BioSkin supports are designed to be compressive and will feel tight as a result; if you would prefer less tightness, please choose a larger size
- You can take your measurements without using a tape measure; simply use a string, then measure the string with a ruler
- Please take into account any joint swelling before buying, as this could mean you need a larger size

How Does the BioSkin Hinged Knee Brace Work?
The Ultima is a strapped knee brace, coming complete with straps located both above and below the knee to provide an additional level of support. It provides a tight fit and is designed for athletic application. Supporting the knee both above and below helps compress loose and fatigued ligaments, muscles and tendons, drawing them back toward the central knee joint to improve athletic performance.
Which Version Should I Buy?
There are two versions of the BioSkin Hinged Knee Brace to choose from. Which one you buy will depend on your own personal needs and preferences.
- Original: Provides rigid stability with warming compression.
- Ultima: Lighter for enhanced breathability and movement.
Features of the BioSkin Hinged Knee Brace
- Strapped "Ultima" option provides excellent sports support
- Ambidextrous design means one brace fits either the left or right knee
- Open patella system enhances compression and breathability
- Donut buttress further increases extra patella support and comfortability
- Bi-centric hinged aluminium side supports for medial/lateral support
- Lightweight, low profile design doesn't weigh the joint down
- "Pull on" design is easy to apply time and time again
- Available in five different sizes for a guaranteed perfect fit
For users to prefer a closure support to a pull-on, we recommend using the Hinged Brace with Front Closure.
Strapped "Ultima" Option Enhances Sporting Support
The "Ultima" design is manufactured with the more athletically inclined user in mind. With twin straps and a slightly tighter design, the "Ultima" compresses ligaments, tendons and muscles located around the knee in order to maximise performance when pushing off, landing, sprinting and jumping.
The twin straps attach both above and below the knee, providing additional compression in vital areas. Hinges located on either side help keep the medial and lateral sides of the joint in place, maximising stability so you can work back to your best when recovering from injury.
Ambidextrous Design
An ambidextrous design allows the BioSkin Hinged Knee Support to be used on either knee. Intuitive and practical, this design feature takes the stress out of purchasing and means you've always got an applicable brace in case of future injury.
Open Patella System
An open patella system prevents poor alignment and encourages correct positioning whilst the brace is applied. An open patella support works better if you need to wear a brace for long periods or if you are exercising, as it forces the patella to stay central and maximises breathability when sweating.
Donut Buttress Enhances Comfort
The lining around the open patella lining is slightly protruded, providing a nice cushion for the area around the joint. When the correct level of compression is achieved, this buttress surrounds the patella, encouraging blood flow to the area and further encouraging the patella into its correct and natural position to enhance healing.
Hinged Aluminium Side Supports Increase Stability
The BioSkin Open Patella Support uses lightweight hinges on either side of the knee to stabilise the muscles and ligaments surrounding the central joint. These lightweight and inobtrusive supports ensure the joint is correctly aligned, and that the muscles running parallel on the medial and lateral side are compressed and pulled inward toward the central joint.
Lightweight and Low Profile Design
Whether you're concerned with athletic performance or you're looking for a brace to get you back up and on your feet, you want something that isn't going to weigh you down. The BioSkin Hinged Knee Support provides ample support above, at and below the knee joint without feeling bulky or impairing movement.
